Glocal held its 6th Annual Event on March15st, with over 200 people in attendance. Participants included: current students, prospective students, students from sister programs across Hebrew University, alumni, staff, community members, organizational partners, participants in MASHAV, development practitioners, and Glocal family, friends, and donors. In particular we would like to thank our honored guests, Hebrew University Rector Professor Asher Cohen, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Tamir Sheafer and the Zambian Ambassador to Israel, Martin Mewanambale.
This year's event started with an International Development Fair and featured a lecture by Prof. Sara Curran from the University of Washington. The audience also enjoyed polished, 5-minute, student "pitches" of their internship experiences from around the globe, a photo exhibit showcasing images and stories from the field, and a panels where students and practitioners discussed and debated some of the enduring topics of concern with a special focus on community resilience. The event also honored Aya Navon's service to the program.
