Workshops for Students

The Learning Disabilities Unit develops and conducts workshops on various topics to help students effectively manage their academic workload and succeed in their studies. 

These workshops are highly recommended for first-year students but are open to anyone interested in acquiring effective learning strategies. Most workshops are held across all campuses every semester. Updates on workshop dates will be sent via email. 

Has Anyone Seen My Attention Span?

Group Workshop for Students with ADHD 

Students dealing with ADHD are invited to participate in a group workshop designed to explore the impact of ADHD on self-perception and various aspects of life. 

The five-session workshop aims to stimulate reflection on ADHD's effects and introduce diverse coping strategies to support success. Sessions will incorporate interactive and creative learning methods, leveraging the power of group dynamics. 

  • Duration: 5 weeks 
  • Schedule: Spring Semester, afternoon sessions (16:15-18:00) 
  • Dates: Exact dates to be announced 
  • Fee: 200 NIS 

 

Exam Preparation Workshop

This workshop aims to improve study strategies and test-taking skills, addressing the unique requirements of different courses. Participants will learn how to manage a demanding exam schedule, organize their studies efficiently, and optimize their performance during exam periods.

  • Fee: 100 NIS

Time Management & Organization Workshop

 

This workshop provides practical tools for managing a busy schedule, and balancing assignments, classes, and exams.  

Topics include: 

  • Choosing effective learning tools 
  • Creating task lists 
  • Prioritizing assignments 
  • Building a weekly study plan that incorporates learning, work, and leisure

  • Duration: Two sessions, 1.5 hours each

Mathematical Writing Workshop – LYX

 

In this workshop, participants will learn to use a software tool for easily typing mathematical equations. The session will cover essential features, shortcuts, and practical exercises for efficient equation writing on a computer.

Workshops are intended for all students officially recognized as having learning disabilities and/or ADHD, but are also open to and beneficial for all students.

Mindfulness Workshop

A mental training course designed to teach how to be present in the moment, pause, observe non-judgmentally, enhance attention, and better cope with life’s challenges. 

Research in recent years has shown that mindfulness practice effectively improves mental functioning in various areas, including: 

  • Enhanced focus and attention 
  • Stress and anxiety management
  • Personal growth and self-fulfillment 

The workshop is conducted in a small group of up to 17 participants, and supports each participant in exploring and finding their unique path in the world of meditation. Practice sessions include an introduction to Buddhism, neuroscience, psychology, and the third wave of CBT. 

The workshop is facilitated by Omri Comay, MA in Clinical Psychology, BA in Psychology, Cognition, and Computer Science. Certified MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) instructor from the Sagol Center for Brain and Mind at Reichman University. Omri has practiced mindfulness for over a decade. 

  • Duration: 10 sessions, approximately 2 hours each, with one extended session conducted online 
  • Fee: 350 NIS
