Integration Program for Students on the Autism Spectrum

Program Objective 

The program aims to create an inclusive academic environment that enables students with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to integrate into various academic programs at Hebrew University. Participation is open to students who meet the admission requirements for their chosen field of study. Currently, students from all four university campuses are enrolled in the program across a range of disciplines. 

Support Components 

  • Individual Academic Mentoring – Mentors receive biweekly training from a psychologist coordinating the program 

  • Time Management & Organization Strategies – Provided through individual and group sessions 

  • Writing and Learning Strategies – Provided through individual and group sessions 

  • Individual Social & Functional Mentoring – Mentors receive intensive ongoing training on autism and learning strategies from experts 

  • Social Activities  

  • Social Skills Development 

  • Exam & Learning Accommodations 

  • Guidance on National Insurance Benefits 

  • Assistance with University Administrative Processes – Including housing, academic and administrative staff, psychological services 

  • Career Guidance – Provided in the final stages of the student’s studies 

  • Workshops on Time Management, Organization, and Writing Strategies 

  • Lectures by Specialists – On the challenges and experiences of autistic students in higher education. 

Some support services require an annual participation fee.
