Dr. Weinreb received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a social and political demographer who works in two main substantive areas. One is the relationship between demographic behavior and religion, ethnicity and identity in general. The other is data collection methods in survey research. For most of his career, he focused on non-Western settings, especially countries in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East while recently, he has also been working on contemporary demographic change in Europe.
In Glocal International Development program he teaches the course focusing on "Population Changes and Development".
