Academic Support

The Equal Opportunities Unit runs an academic mentoring program aimed at fostering academic excellence. Guidance is provided by experienced students, either individually or in groups, for specific courses in students’ fields of study. 

"One Step Ahead" Program

This initiative prepares students academically, socially, and emotionally for the higher education system. It includes: 

  • Courses in the student’s relevant field of study
  • Social workshops
  • Learning skills workshops
  • Orientation sessions introducing the university, libraries, computer labs, and more 

English Summer Course and Academic Preparation 

This program offers Arab students a Level 2 English course during the summer, with full funding for tuition and dormitory housing. 

Program Goals: 

  • Help students improve their English skills even before the academic year begins, enabling the to dedicate more time and effort to their first-year courses. 
  • Provide additional training and workshops to prepare participants for university studies, including learning skills workshops and orientation sessions introducing the overall university, libraries, computer labs, and more. 


Psychological Support for Undergraduate Students 

Psychological Services at the Dean of Students Office offers support for personal challenges and crisis situations. Individual counseling is available for stress, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. The Equal Opportunities Unit provides financial assistance for therapy sessions, with a required student co-payment. 

How to apply: 

  • Submit an online request to the Psychological Services Unit. 
  • Mention eligibility for support from the Equal Opportunities Unit. 
  • Students using this service must sign a confidentiality waiver, which is used strictly for payment purposes and does not compromise the confidentiality of the therapy sessions in any manner. 


Subsidized Learning Disabilities Assessments for Undergraduate Students 

The Unit for Assessment and Support for Students with Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders at the Dean of Students Office offers assessments for students experiencing difficulties that may stem from learning disabilities or ADHD. For students recommended by the Unit for an assessment, the cost of the assessment will be fully subsidized, up to 1,450 NIS.  

Support is tailored to each student's individual needs, ensuring a balance between financial and academic assistance through a holistic, system-wide approach that takes into account the full range of students. The primary goal of this support system is to prevent dropout and promote academic excellence. The Equal Opportunities Unit at the Dean of Students Office facilitates access to these services. 


Cultural Evenings 

This initiative aims to create an inclusive atmosphere that allows Arab students to express their social and cultural identity as part of the university experience. Events include literary, artistic, and musical evenings, featuring performances by students and local artists, as an integral part of the university’s cultural activities. 

Cultural Evening
