Dear Students and Members of the University Community,
These are difficult and painful times for all of us, both personally and nationally. The uncertainty only adds to the challenge.
Many of us feel a strong need to contribute to the national effort and resilience of Israeli society, offering support wherever possible to security forces and residents of the south.
At Hebrew University, we uphold a strong sense of social and civic responsibility. Our students excel not only academically but also as leaders and active contributors to society. They take the lead in community engagement.
We, the university administration, would like to make it easier for those who wish to volunteer but are unsure how or where to get involved, given the wide range of opportunities available.
To support this, we have compiled a list of volunteer initiatives already active within our university community – whether through external organizations or university-led efforts – and have created a dedicated platform to streamline access to this information.
All volunteer opportunities are listed on the university’s website under the “Hebrew University at the Forefront” section. We also encourage you to explore the Jerusalem student-led initiative, "Iron Hearts."
We welcome your suggestions for new initiatives where the university’s unique expertise can make an impact. If you have ideas or identify additional needs, please submit them via this form. We will review them and update the website accordingly.
For any questions, please contact our coordinating team:
- Yifat Cohen-Hadad – Dean of Students Office
- Lital Guetta – Human Resources
- Dorit Hershkovitz – Marketing and Communications
We remain hopeful for quieter and better days ahead, and for a swift recovery on both a personal and national level.
