Program Overview 

The program trains dynamic psychotherapists through a combination of comprehensive theoretical study and hands-on clinical experience, accompanied by supervised guidance. 

Dynamic psychotherapy is a key therapeutic modality in the field of psychological treatment. This program provides an in-depth understanding of dynamic therapy principles within an institution recognized by the Ministry of Health for clinical psychology training since 1979. 

The program is accredited by the Israeli Association for Psychotherapy and the Israeli Association for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. 


Who Is This Program For? 

The program is designed for psychiatrists, psychologists, expressive arts therapists, and clinical social workers. Applicants must have at least two years of experience in individual psychotherapy. Eligible candidates will be invited for an admissions interview.


Curriculum Structure 

Year 1 

  • Theoretical Seminars: 
  • Foundational Concepts in Psychoanalytic Theory – Freud (30 hours) 
  • Klein and Her Successors (30 hours) 
  • The Therapeutic Relationship and Techniques in Dynamic Therapy (Beginning therapy, working with transference and countertransference, countertransference disclosure, failures and corrections) – 60 hours 
  • Group Supervision: 70 hours 
  • Clinical Training: Three psychodynamic treatments at the university counseling services, accompanied by individual supervision. 

Year 2 

  • Theoretical Seminars: 
  • Psychopathology from Different Perspectives (Dynamic, CBT, Physiological) – 60 hours 
  • Object Relations Theory (Based on Klein, Bion, and Winnicott) – 30 hours 
  • Kohut’s Self Psychology: Theory and Therapeutic Applications – 30 hours 
  • Group Supervision: 70 hours 
  • Clinical Training: Three psychodynamic treatments at the university counseling services, accompanied by individual supervision. 

Year 3 

  • Theoretical Seminars:  
  • Relational Psychoanalysis: Continuity and Innovation – 30 hours 
  • Integration of Techniques and Theory through Case Studies – 30 hours 
  • Dreams: Theory and Practice (Jungian Emphasis) – 30 hours 
  • Therapeutic and Ethical Issues: Managing Extreme Situations – 30 hours 

 

  • Group Supervision: 70 hours 
  • Clinical Training: Three psychodynamic treatments at the university counseling services, accompanied by individual supervision. 
  • Final Project: Case presentation and discussion 
  • Total Training Hours: Approximately 510 hours

Program Scope and Costs 

Program Duration: 3 years 
Schedule: Tuesdays, 8:30 AM – 1:45 PM 
Location: Hebrew University Psychological Services, Maeirsdorf Dormitories 10, Mount Scopus 

Tuition Fees: 

Annual Tuition: 7,900 NIS 

Supervision Fee: 280 NIS/hour 

Application Fee: 350 NIS (not included in tuition, non-refundable) 

Mandatory Deposit to be Paid Upon Acceptance: 1,200 NIS (non-refundable upon cancellation after acceptance, in accordance with Hebrew University regulations)

  • Complete the 2025 Registration Form. 

  • Submit the form along with: 

  • Two letters of recommendation from supervisors. 

  • Copies of BA and MA diplomas. 

  • Suitable candidates will be invited for a personal interview. 

  • Applications and interview invitations will be processed in the order they are received.
