Postdocs

Jian Huang, Ph.D. (jian.huang@mail.huji.ac.i):
Jian was born in Ganzhou city, Jiangxi Province, China. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry at Gannan Normal University in 2016. In 2022, he received his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry at Jiangxi Normal University under the supervision of Professor Yiyuan Peng. His Ph.D. thesis was about the green synthesis of N-Heterocycles and their C-H functionalization. In 2022, Jian joined the Metanis group at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a postdoctoral. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, photography, reading and traveling.

Hiba Ghareeb Ph.D (hiba.ghareeb@mail.huji.ac.il):
Hiba was born and grew up in Jerusalem. She completed her M.Sc. in pharmaceutical science at Al-Quds University, continuing on to the Hebrew Univerty of Jerusalem recieveing a Ph.D in chemisty. She is exploring therepudic peptide devolopment using chemical protein synthesis. She likes playing sports.

Graduate Students

	Yao Cai (yao.cai@mail.huji.ac.il): Yao was born in Hengyang city, Hunan Province, China. She completed her Master’s degree in polymer chemistry at the South University of China. She is pursuing her Ph.D in chemistry at Hebrew University. She likes doing yoga, Pilates and climbing mountains in her spare time.
	Reem Ghadir (reem.ghadir@mail.huji.ac.il): Reem was born and raised in Bir el-Maksur in the lower Galilee, and is pursuing an M.Sc. in chemistry at Hebrew University. Reem is pursuing her M.Sc. in the topic of protein folding. She loves enriching her knowledge with historical facts and reading ancient Arabic literature. Reem also enjoys nature a lot.
	Tasneem Ras (tasneem.rass@mail.huji.ac.il): Tasneem was born and raised in Qalansuwe in the center of the country, and completed her B.Sc degree in medicinal chemistry at Bar Ilan University. She is pursuing her M.Sc in chemistry at Hebrew University. In her spare time she loves to read and make cakes.
	Jacob Gichtin (jacob.gichtin@mail.huji.ac.il): Jacob was born in Baltimore MD, USA. After moving to Israel when he was 13 he went on to complete high school in Israel. After completing his mandatory IDF service, completing his undergraduate studies in the combined chemistry and biology program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he continues on to his M.Sc there. His research focuses on synthesizing 'unclonable toxins.' In his spare time he enjoys scuba diving, swimming and many other sports.

Aya Mahameed (aya.mahameed@mail.huji.ac.il)
Aya was born in Um Al-Fahem. She completed high school at Al-Ahliyya School, where she studied chemistry and biology, fostering a strong fondness for science. Aya is currently completing her B.Sc at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she is studying chemistry and biology. In her free time Aya enjoys reading books, writing and exploring nature.
