Amit Klein is an associate professor of computer science in the Hebrew University school of computer science and engineering. Amit has over 30 years of experience in the field of information security as a security researcher and as a hi-tech executive. His research spans across network/protocol security, application security, and host security (operating systems and kernels).
Prior to that, he earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University, where his dissertation focused on attacks against network protocol field implementations, under the supervision of Prof. Benny Pinkas.
Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years in the hi-tech industry, as a VP of security research in Safebreach, CTO of Trusteer (acquired by IBM), chief scientist of Cyota (acquired by RSA Security) and director of security research for Sanctum (acquired by Watchfire, which was in turn acquired by IBM).
Before joining the hi-tech industry, Amit served as a Research Officer (in the Signal Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces and later as a Software Project Manager for the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Before that Amit earned a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics (double major), graduating magna cum laude from the Talpiot Programme at the Hebrew University.
