Alon Eizenberg is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His work is in the areas of Empirical Industrial Organization and Applied Microeconometrics, and seeks to understand the mechanisms that govern modern markets.
Dr. Eizenberg earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University. His research papers have been published in journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, and the RAND Journal of Economics. He is an Associate Editor at the International Journal of Industrial Organization, and the Israeli recepient of the 2020 Young Economist Award by the France Israel Foundation.
Dr. Eizenberg has advised the Israel Antitrust Authority and (currently) the Bank of Israel on competition issues. In 2011 he co-founded the annual workshop "Industrial Organization, Regulation and Competition Policy in Israel" (a.k.a. the Israeli IO Day) and had been co-organizing it through 2011-2018. He is also the author of the blog (in Hebrew) "About Markets and Competition".
