Nurturing urban leadership and local knowledge for just and inclusive cities

The clinic is a home to create local knowledge about spatial justice and to grow professional and civic leadership in the field. We work with researchers, city professionals and social activists to promote spatial justice through courses, tours, publications and various projects. The core of our activity in Jerusalem, but also touches on other places.

Clinic Activities:

We connect knowledge and practice through a variety of tools:

• Construction and strengthening of local professional networks in the areas of municipal affairs in planning issues in Jerusalem (connections, the planning platform in East Jerusalem), planning for early childhood (Urban 95) and placemaking.
• Courses and seminars on issues of spatial justice, housing policy, planning in Arab towns, public participation, early childhood planning and more.
• A research and action group for early researchers (diverse cities and spatial justice)
• International workshops and study tours abroad for professionals and researchers (international activities).

The Clinic has been operating since 2014 in the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Hebrew University, within the framework of the Institute for Urban and Regional Studies.
