Short Bio: Interested in how the nervous system complexity forms, my PhD studies focused on how growing axons navigate to innervate their final targets during development. I later studied how neural crest cells delaminate from the developing embryonic neural tube and engage in migration, to give rise to the peripheral nervous system. Aiming to connect between development and function during adulthood – I later studied how brain homeostasis is regulated. My lab now focuses on the role of Protein S in maintaining homeostasis in various tissues, including the brain and retina. Specific projects in the lab focus on adult neurogenesis and retinal degeneration, among other projects.
