Students in their second and third years and graduates who have completed their studies will be eligible for the Dean’s List. No more than 10% of the students in any given year may be on the Dean’s List, and their grade average by the specified date must be 90 or above. They must also be on a full-time study program that includes a minimum of 45 academic credits, or graduates who received no fewer than 40 academic credits in their final year (not including excess or “banked” courses).

• The grade average for the ranking will include all grades from the previous year, with the exception of the following courses: “banked” courses, grades received after the specified date, non-numerical grades (e.g., “exempt”, “authorized”, “pass” etc.), recognized courses from another institution (with the exception of studies undertaken as part of a student exchange) and languages for exemption.
• Students who received a grade lower than 60 over the previous year will not be eligible for inclusion in the Dean’s List.
• Students on a dual-major program in two separate faculties will be eligible for inclusion in the Dean’s List for their bachelor’s degree only in their home faculty, where their studies take place.

For students on a dual-major program (where both majors fall under the Faculty of Mathematics & Sciences) and on integrated programs, the cut-off will be determined by an average of the cut-off of the individual programs.

Master’s degree honors students

Honors students may be eligible for inclusion in the Dean’s and Rector’s Lists based on their achievements during their master’s degree studies (after the first year and after the second year).

Dean’s Lists for a master’s degree

The Dean’s List will include students or graduates whose proportion of the number of degree students in the previous year does not exceed 10% of the students in that year, according to the following criteria:

During that year they took at least 40% of the academic credits required for the degree (27% in a three-year program).

The average of their grades in that year is 85 or above.

The average for the classification will include all the grades from the previous year, including grades in supporting studies, supplementary studies and excess studies.

Courses in which a non-numerical grade such as “exempt” and/or “credit” was awarded which were recognized on the basis of studies in another institution (not including studies in a student exchange framework) will not be counted in the credits for classification as honors students.

Dean’s awards for a master’s degree
 • First-year master’s degree students will be awarded grants based on their admission data in order to encourage them to study for that degree and integrate in academic work. The grant will be awarded to a percentage of first-year students for that degree in the faculty with a grade of 90 or above in their bachelor’s degree.
 • The grant will be awarded to students on the research track or in a program in which the transfer to a research track is possible only toward the second year.
 • The faculty may award some of the master’s merit grants to students beginning their studies for that degree in the second semester.
 • Merit grants for second-year master’s students will be given to a certain percentage of students in their second year of study for that degree in the faculty based on their grade average in all the courses from the previous year, not including reactivated courses and language courses (Hebrew or English) taken for exemption.
 • The Dean’s grant for a master’s degree will be awarded in the form of a subsistence scholarship for a year and exemption from personal tuition not exceeding 100% of annual tuition.
