Given a symplectic manifold and two Lagrangian submanifolds with boundary in a compact Lagrangian, we define moduli spaces of curves with boundary conditions in those submanifolds. We will briefly present in what setting these moduli spaces can occur, state an index theorem for them and go over the idea and techniques of its proof. Time permitting, we will present some ideas for how remaining issues regarding these spaces can be resolved.
