T&G: May Sela (Hebrew University), Mirror Symmetry for Open Gromov-Witten Invariants of Fano manifolds

For a Lagrangian submanifold L in a symplectic manifold X, open Gromov-Witten invariants count holomorphic curves in X whose boundary lies on L, subject to certain geometric constraints. In the case where X is a Fano manifold, mirror symmetry predicts that these invariants correspond to numerical invariants of algebraic objects dual to Lagrangian submanifolds, known as matrix factorizations.
 
In this talk, I will introduce the notion of matrix factorizations using the non-Archimedean setting and explain how to associate numerical invariants to them. These invariants are constructed to mirror open Gromov-Witten invariants. I will also present examples illustrating how this construction reproduces known counts of holomorphic curves.
 
No prior knowledge in the field will be assumed. This is joint work with J. Solomon.
