Alumni

Glocal alumni are an integral and important part of the Glocal community. The program has over a 250 alumni, spread across the globe. We maintains a website dedicated to alumni where they can learn about various events, share work opportunities and insights and social events. The alumni also have a very active Facebook group and Newsletter. Glocal also organizes various events for alumni such as reunions, workshops and opportunities to talk with current students. The program organizes alumni events also internationally, for example, in 2017 an alumni reunion was organized in Rwanda.

We open a call for our alumni community to present their work and key insights from the field through writing for our annual magazine. In order to support to work in practice, Glocal also offer annual seed-funding grants for enabling selected alumni to launch their hand on projects in the field. This seed funding, offered by Pears Foundation, enable alumni to secure funding in their early stages of entering the world of development.

After graduating from Glocal, alumni find employment in a variety of fields and organizations. Most of the Glocal alumni remain in development related activities, mostly in their home countries. Some continue to work internationally. Other alumni find emplyment in the public sector, in either national or local levels. Glocal alumni also turn increasingly to the private sector, mostly in firms and companies interested in branching out to the developing world. Finally, some Glocal alumni continue their studies towards PhD or other degrees. Some of our alumni have started their own projects in communities. We encourage and support our alumni in their career and project development.
