Admission process

We are happy to hear that you are interested in applying to the M.A. Program in International Development (Glocal) and look forward to discussing the program with you should you have any questions.

Glocal’s internal application opens in November of each year. Candidates are advised to apply as early as possible. An announcement will be made on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages as to when applications are open.

How to Apply

The application process is different for domestic and international students. While international students need to apply only through the Glocal EKMD system, domestic students need to additionally register through the Hebrew University registration platform.

Before applying, please check your eligibility.

Documents you’ll need for the applications:

  • Proof of application fee payment (registration requires the full payment of US $75 by credit card)
  • A copy of your ID card or passport
  • A passport picture
  • Original transcripts and diploma of previous academic studies. (Official documents are originals from issuing institutions or notarized copies. Faxed or scanned copies are not considered official. Applicants who applied online must mail the additional items. For questions or clarifications please contact the Glocal Coordinator).
  • A copy of your updated curriculum vitae
  • A personal statement - describing your relevant background, why you wish to join Glocal, and your career objectives. This document is embedded in the Glocal EKMD application platform: you need to answer the questions on the form and upload it.
  • Applicants who did not study their undergraduate degree in English, and are not from Israeli registered universities, must present results of an English language proficiency exam from a recognized language-instruction institute.
  • Names and emails of at least two referees (one professional and one academic). The system will directly forward them a questionnaire about you.
