Offering a unique face to face encounter with real-time science, the Professors on Wheels program brings professors and top doctoral students into schools around the country.
Presenting a personal lens, and sharing their academic journeys, their research choices, and the motivations behind their research, these university reps bring science to life for their young 9th-12th grade audiences. Whether it’s genetics or nanophysics, medicine or quantum science, these encounters expose the school children to the forefront of scientific research, serving as an additional tool for exciting them about the wonderful world of science.
The rich dialogue generated by these face-to-face encounters serves to further strengthen connections between the university and the school system.
