Safety and Occupational Health Policy of the Hebrew University

  • The University is committed to upholding the requirements of all laws, regulations, guidelines and rules related to maintaining safety and occupational health.
  • The University will conduct work, research and teaching processes that will not harm the safety or health of its workers.
  • The University will invest the necessary resources in order to ensure a workplace that is safe and healthy for its workers, guests and the environment.
  • The University's approach will be based on prevention of accidents or harm to workers' health by systematically identifying risk factors, risk assessment and minimizing risks to an acceptable level.
  • In case of doubt regarding the existence of a safety or health risk work will not be performed until confirmed that it is possible to perform it safely.
  • The University Safety Department will publicize all available information regarding safety issues to the entire University staff and everyone who enters its gates by training, publishing information on its website, writing guidelines and so on…
  • The Safety Department will investigate every accident or near accident in order to identify the failures and reasons for the event. The Department will release the findings to relevant authorities and will take remedial actions to prevent repetition of the accidents.
