Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The ambulatory clinic service, provide medical care, diagnosis and consult for outpatients with various conditions within the oral and cranio-facial complex:

  • Surgical extraction of impacted or complex teeth, referred by dentists
  • Exposure of un-erupted teeth, as part of an orthodontic treatment
  • Diagnosis and removal of lesions and tumors of the oral cavity
  • Pre-prosthetic surgical treatments, prior to denture adjustment
  • Bone and soft tissue augmentation procedures in which gums or bone substitutes are surgically transplanted prior to the insertion of dental implants
  • Dental implants insertion
  • Diagnosis and consult of congenital and acquired facial skeletal deformities
  • Treatments for disorders of the temporomandibular joint
  • Minimally invasive surgeries for salivary glands diseases
  • Sleep apnea syndrome consultation and treatment

 

The department provides surgical care under general anesthesia for a variety of medical conditions, within the field of oral, head and neck surgeries:

  • Removal of tumors of the oral or facial bones and tissues followed by state-of-the-art reconstruction modalities
  • Repair of congenital and developmental deformities of the facial bones (Orthognathic surgeries)
  • Bone transplantations
  • Temporomandibular joint surgeries
  • Salivary glands surgeries
  • Urgent treatment for post traumatic facial fractures

 

In addition to the outpatients setting, the department provides an on-call surgeon who is available 24/7 for patients seeking medical care through the hospital’s emergency medicine department.

Emergency procedures are available for trauma cases, acute infections and additional related conditions of the oral and maxillofacial complex.

 

The department also offers a ward in which in which admitted patients are hospitalized for long term treatments, involving surgical interventions or case which require adequate care and observation
